Work Bench

Workbench

Year built: 2011
Plan: Magazine

This is a robust workbench that was pretty easy to build. Legs are made from 2x4s, Top maded from two 3/4 pieces of plywood glued together for a really solid top. Added a shelf also made of plywood. Edge banded the plywood with solid Oak. I decided to add a sacrificial 1/4 mdf hardboard top to cover the top of the bench so I don't have to worry about marring or staining the top and can use it as a workbench should be used. I have replace that a few times over the years.

The legs have feet that can be adjusted for height.

I also added a 1x1 oak Piece to the top on one side and part of the front which is perfectly square. These can act as stops when I need them. I left part of the front and the other side open for long pieces. The combination works out perfect. I always wanted to add a vice to the bench but, haven't yet.

It is, of course, the center of my modest garage shop. Tons of usefulness.
