Super easy, fun project. Kathryn wanted a lattice for the cucumbers to grow on in the garden. I like cucumbers. She took a picture of one at Lowes and asked if I could build one. I said yes! Together we came up with the simple design. Note- the drawing indicates 3/4" rails but, I decided to make them 1" like the stiles.
I had saved the deck boards from last year when I took out the hot tub and re-did the decking in that area. So, this project was $0.00 cost. The decking was one inch thick so, all I had to do was rip 3/4" pieces and x-cut to length. I fastened the rails to the stiles with simple brads with a nail gun.
From the photos you can see the boards were damp (need a better way to store that lumber) so, after cutting I left them dry out for a couple
of days before I stained them (same stain as the house siding...again $0.00 cost!). Fun.
